TIME REQUIREMENTS: 1-2 hours per week

THIS PROGRAMME HAS BEEN DEVELOPED TO assist parents and caregivers of individuals diagnosed with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder [FASD] or with “At Risk for Neurodevelopmental Disorder and FASD, associated with Pre-natal Alcohol Exposure” so that they can:
• better understand this neuro-disability and its effects on the brain and body
• better understand the basis of the behaviour being experienced;
• provide real-life strategies and suggestions for managing the behaviour, and the social and learning issues associated with this neuro-disability.
We provide practical information and advice based on international best-practice and our own personal knowledge of the disability.
Every individual affected by FASD is unique. They have their own strengths, interests, abilities, and deficits. Therefore, not every strategy available will work for every individual. We provide a kete of strategies that you can use and try to see if it works for your FASD individual. Work booklets are provided for each Module and are part of the Programme cost.
This is an In-Home parenting programme. We work with you for one to two hours on a one-to-one basis once a week in your home to give you the information and tools you need to get the best outcomes for your FASD individual and for yourself.
We are also available for “crisis” calls during the Programme, as and when needed.

FASD GROUP PARENTING & CAREGIVER SUPPORT [Nga mātua] PROGRAMME
Programme Duration: 16 weeks / 30 hours
Time Requirements: 1-2 hours a week.
This Programme covers that same Modules as the Guardian Angel In-Home Parenting and Caregiver Support Programme. However, as the name implies, it is conducted at a venue with other FASD parents and caregivers, and not in our client's homes. This Programme gives attendees the same general information as that contained in the Guardian Angel Programme but we are unable to consider anddevelop specific strategies and interventions for your FASD individual.
